Postponed by Covid-19

We’ve agonized over the decision for months…
We can’t gather as in year’s past but we can still gather together with some adjustments

Flaxapalooza 2020 will now be Flaxapalooza 2021
Flaxapalooza is our way of telling Maine’s History through the linen thread that connects our cultures together…it’s such a big story that we’ll need to wait until next year for the classes, food and fiddles.
BUT
FIBER COLLEGE…UNRAVELED
is coming together for September 9-13, 2020 with your input

We can spread out…
All of the current CDC advice tells us that outdoor gatherings and wide open spaces are the safest way to congregate.

With 40 acres and several buildings and large tents at our disposal, we have the luxury of creating socially distanced pods for spinning, weaving, knitting/crocheting, dyeing, sewing/stitching and woodworking.

Mentored Studios
If there’s interest, we could invite instructors to host a space for “consultations” on your projects…I’m thinking some of our wonderful Maine teachers could be on site to offer advice on projects in an informal way…not a structured class but something more fluid…are you interested?

Making it Work in Covid Times
Whoever participates needs to have a campsite at Searsport Shores Ocean Campground and stay at least three nights…sadly we won’t be able to host walk-ins.  Maine’s travel rules apply.

Everyone will need to wear a face covering and work together on social distancing. Fiber College Unraveled will be a low cost event if there’s enough interest to bring it to life.

If you’re interested, please reach out soon…we will be building this together.
Reach out to astrig@makersguildmaine.org or text (207) 930-5919…don’t call please because short term memory is beginning to be troublesome [insert appropriate emoji]

I live, love and work at our family campground in Midcoast Maine. Interesting people come and go all summer long...it's a nearly perfect life filled with tidepools, gardens, goats and honeybees
