10th Anniversary Community Project – A Fiber Artist’s Garden
To celebrate our 10th anniversary, Fiber College teachers, vendors and students are joining together to create a work of fiber art to hang in the Searsport community. Mary DeLano, Kathleen Gerdes and Marty Elkin are organizing the project. They have been meeting over the last several months to prepare a background for the project which will be a large wall hanging of a fiber artist’s garden.
Each of you are invited to make colorful additions (flowers, bugs, butterflies and birds), using natural fibers, to put on the background. We can’t wait to see all of the techniques that you will use to make your flowers and garden creatures. Your contributions can be realistic or whimsical. Pieces can range in size from 1” to 5”.
The three of us will be available during the weekend of Fiber College to help you attach your embellishments to the background and to assist anyone who wants to make even more leaves, flowers, bugs, butterflies and birds to add.
We plan to meet once a month and will post pictures of our project, as well as updates on how you can get involved. For more details contact email@example.com, firstname.lastname@example.org or email@example.com.
