KnitMaine-ia is just around the corner!

The fashion show will take place on Thursday, Sept. 8, as a kick-off to Fiber College in Searsport.  The event is both a fundraiser, and an opportunity to donate knitted items to New Hope for Women.

Submit your favorite piece(s) to show off your handiwork.  Clothing and accessories will be accepted from August 2 to August 21, and may be left at St. Margaret’s Episcopal Church in Belfast or mailed to “Fiber College, 216 W. Main St. Searsport, ME 04974″.

The organizers are also asking contributors to donate a simple scarf, hat or pair of mittens for the women and children serviced by New Hope.

New this year—door prizes and a wine and cheese reception following the event and the opening of the Fiber College Instructors’ Exhibit in the FC Art Studio!

FC Artist in Residence, Mary Jane Mucklestone Fair Isle Knitter Extraordinaire will be with us all evening.  To add to the festivities, the evening will melt into a Hootenanny for all to participate.

For more details, ticket information (those registering for Fiber College will have the opportunity to reserve their tickets when they sign up for classes), and submission forms, please visit www.stmargaretsbelfast.org or contact jillianliver@gmail.com.  See You There!
